Brazilian Vitreoretina Surgeon Completes Work at North Western Eye Centre
Dr. Eduardo Kestelman, a Brazilian vitreoretina surgeon recently completed his visit to Ghana as a Unite for Sight Global Impact Volunteer.
During his stay Dr. Kestelman perfomed complex vitreoretina surgeries with Dr. Michael Gyasi at the North Western Eye Centre (now St Thomas Eye Hospital), Accra. He also provided training in basic vitreo-retina surgery covering areas of Pneumatic Retinopexy, Scleral Buckling and 23GA Pars Plana Vitrectomy. His visit is a follow-up to the one done by Prof. Jay Duker. This is part of a comprehensive on-site training program to provide top-notch vitreoretina services to the people of Ghana.
Dr. Eduardo has since left for Brazil.
