Professor Seymour Performs Ahmed Valve Surgeries at North Western Eye Centre, Ghana
Prof. Jody Piltz-Seymour recently visited Ghana with her daughter, Emma, as Unite for Sight Global Impact Volunteer. This is the family’s second visit to the West African country. During the visit, Dr. Seymour brought along consumables and instruments for training and performing surgeries. She successfully trained a Ghanaian ophthalmologist, Dr. Abalo Kojo in Trabeculectomy filtering surgeries for Glaucoma. Dr. Seymour also performed Ahmed Valve surgeries at the North Western Eye Centre and together with her daughter made donations to a local school. They also brought to North Western consumables to support cataract, glaucoma and vitreo-retinal surgeries.
